🐉 Dragon Boat Racing

الأصل: East Asia

Dragon boat racing is a paddling sport performed in long, narrow boats decorated with dragon heads and tails, traditionally held during the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival to commemorate the poet Qu Yuan. Crews of up to 22 paddlers race to the beat of a drummer seated at the bow, chasing a rice dumpling (zongzi) tossed into the water as a ritual offering. The sport has since spread globally, with international competitions held on six continents.
