Eid al-Adha in Azerbaijan is a national holiday; the Qurban sacrifice ritual is performed and meat distributed to neighbors and the poor, combining Islamic tradition with Azerbaijani customs of hospitality.

One of the two holiest Islamic festivals, commemorating Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son as commanded by God, marked by animal sacrifice, communal prayers, and sharing meat with the poor.
