Sweden's Annandag Pingst (Whit Monday) was a public holiday until 2005 but was replaced by National Day; Protestant church services mark Pentecost Sunday, though the holiday itself is no longer officially observed.

Christian holiday commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles 50 days after Easter, considered the birthday of the Church and observed with special Masses and services.
