Germany's harvest thanksgiving, known as Erntedankfest, is celebrated on the first Sunday of October. The centerpiece of Erntedankfest is the Erntekrone, a harvest crown woven from grain stalks and decorated with flowers, fruits, and ribbons. This crown is carried in a procession to the local church, where it is blessed during a special thanksgiving service. Churches are elaborately decorated with arrangements of vegetables, fruits, bread, and flowers, creating a visual feast that celebrates the bounty of the earth.

While Erntedankfest is not a public holiday and does not command the same national attention as American Thanksgiving, it remains an important tradition in agricultural communities.
