Hanukkah in the United Kingdom is celebrated by the country's approximately 300,000-strong Jewish community with a mix of religious observance and cultural festivity. The lighting of the menorah each evening is the central ritual, performed at home with family and at synagogues and community centers across the country.

Public menorah lightings have become a feature of British civic life. A large menorah is lit in Trafalgar Square each year, and cities including Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, and Brighton host their own public ceremonies. The Chabad-Lubavitch movement organizes many of these events, which are open to the public and often feature live music, latkes, and doughnuts.

British Jewish families celebrate with latkes, sufganiyot, and traditional Ashkenazi foods. The influence of Sephardi and Mizrahi Jews in London and Manchester adds dishes like bumuelos, fried dough puffs, and leek patties to some Hanukkah tables. Children play dreidel, receive Hanukkah gelt, and increasingly receive gifts over the eight nights.

Jewish schools and organizations host Hanukkah events, and many British Jews use the festival as an opportunity to invite non-Jewish friends and neighbors to learn about the holiday. The Jewish Museum in London and the Manchester Jewish Museum hold special Hanukkah exhibitions and workshops.
