The Assumption of Mary on August 15th in Poland is both a religious feast day and a national holiday with deep patriotic significance. Known as Wniebowziecie Najswietszej Maryi Panny, the day also commemorates the Miracle of the Vistula, the decisive Polish victory over the Soviet Army in 1920, linking Marian devotion with national identity.

The spiritual center of Polish Assumption celebrations is the Jasna Gora monastery in Czestochowa, home to the Black Madonna, Poland's most revered religious icon.
