Vesak Day in Singapore is a gazetted public holiday observed by the city-state's significant Buddhist community, which includes Chinese Mahayana, Theravada, and Tibetan Buddhist practitioners. The celebration is a serene counterpoint to Singapore's usual bustle, with temples across the island holding special ceremonies.

The day begins with devotees visiting temples at dawn to participate in the symbolic bathing of the Buddha statue, pouring water over a small figure of the infant Buddha to represent purification of the mind. The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Chinatown, Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, and the Thai Buddhist temple Wat Ananda Metyarama all hold elaborate ceremonies.

Singaporean Vesak traditions include the Three-Step-One-Bow ritual, where devotees bow to the ground every three steps around the temple as an act of humility and devotion. Mass blood donation drives are organized by Buddhist organizations, and many temples distribute free vegetarian meals to the public. The release of captive animals, particularly birds and turtles, is practiced though increasingly regulated for ecological reasons.
