Passover in the United Kingdom is observed by the British Jewish community with traditions that reflect both universal Jewish practice and distinctly British customs. The eight-day festival centers on the Seder meal held on the first two nights, where families gather to read the Haggadah, eat symbolic foods, and retell the story of the Exodus.

British Jewish Seders have their own character. The communal singing of Chad Gadya and Dayenu is enthusiastic, and many families have beloved Haggadot passed down through generations. The British Seder plate includes the universal elements: matzah, maror, charoset, a roasted shankbone, and a roasted egg, with Ashkenazi charoset made from apples, walnuts, wine, and cinnamon.

Traditional British Passover food has its own distinctive features. Alongside matzo ball soup and gefilte fish, British Jewish tables may feature roast chicken or lamb, and the Passover sponge cake, made with matzah meal and ground almonds, is a staple. Passover chocolate, particularly from Israeli brands, fills kosher shops. The British tradition of Chremslach, fried matzo meal pancakes, is cherished by many families.

The London Beth Din oversees Passover kashrut, and kosher-for-Passover products are widely available in areas with significant Jewish populations, including north London, Manchester, and Leeds. Community Seders organized by synagogues and Jewish organizations ensure that no one celebrates alone.
