🕎 Hanukkah Menorah Lighting

The hanukkiah (Hanukkah menorah) is a nine-branched candelabrum lit over the eight nights of Hanukkah to commemorate the miracle of oil that burned for eight days in the rededicated Temple in Jerusalem. One additional candle (the shamash) is used to light the others, with a new candle added each successive night. Jewish law prescribes placing the lit menorah where it can be seen publicly, making it a visible declaration of the holiday.
