🥨 Oktoberfest Folk Dancing

Traditional Bavarian folk dances are a central entertainment at Oktoberfest, Munich's world-famous beer festival held annually from late September into early October. The Schuhplattler — a slapping dance in which performers strike their thighs, knees, and shoes rhythmically — dates to at least the 12th century and is performed by costumed ensembles in the festival tents. Folk music played on brass and accordion accompanies drinking songs and traditional Bavarian costumes (Lederhosen and Dirndl).
