🌾 Sukkot Harvest Shelter (Sukkah)

起源: Middle East

During Sukkot, the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles, families build a temporary outdoor shelter called a sukkah with a roof of natural branches (schach) through which the stars must be visible at night. The sukkah recalls the booths in which the Israelites dwelt during their 40-year journey through the wilderness, and also celebrates the autumn harvest. Meals are eaten inside the sukkah throughout the seven-day festival, and some families sleep there as well.
