رمضان(Ramadan) em Paquistão
Saudação Local: Ramadan Mubarak
Ramadan in Pakistan is observed with intense religious devotion and communal spirit across the country. The sighting of the new moon to begin and end Ramadan is a national event, with the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee's announcement broadcast live on all television channels. The entire rhythm of Pakistani life shifts during the month, with work hours adjusted, schools closing earlier, and markets opening late into the night.
The suhoor, pre-dawn meal, and iftar shape the daily routine. Suhoor often features paratha, eggs, and lassi. Iftar begins with dates and is followed by pakoras, samosas, chana chaat, dahi baray, and fruit chaat, which are sold in huge quantities at street stalls. The main meal after Maghrib prayer features biryani, nihari, haleem, and various kebabs.
Pakistani mosques are packed for Tarawih prayers each night, and the recitation of the entire Quran over the month is a cherished tradition. In Lahore, the Badshahi Mosque and Data Darbar draw enormous congregations. Street food culture reaches its peak during Ramadan, with special Ramadan food streets operating in every major city.
The spirit of charity is amplified during Ramadan. Dastarkhwan, free open-air iftar spreads set up by individuals and organizations, feed millions across the country. The tradition of sending food to neighbors, regardless of their religion, reinforces community bonds. As the month draws to a close, Chand Raat anticipation builds for Eid al-Fitr.
