Easter(Paskalya)

Easter Sunday falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the spring equinox, placing it between March 22 and April 25 each year. The exact date changes annually and is calculated using the computus formula.

Easter Sunday is the most important Christian holiday, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, as described in the New Testament. It marks the culmination of Holy Week and the 40-day Lenten season of fasting and reflection.

Easter is celebrated in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, Brazil, Poland, Greece, and Philippines, among many others. It is widely observed across Christian-majority countries in Europe, the Americas, and the Pacific.

Easter Sunday is a public holiday in many countries, and Good Friday (the preceding Friday) is also commonly a public holiday. In the UK, Australia, and Canada, Easter Monday is additionally a bank holiday. The US does not make it a federal holiday but observance is widespread.

Easter traditions include Easter egg hunts, decorating and exchanging Easter eggs, attending sunrise church services, family feasts featuring lamb or ham, and the Easter Bunny bringing baskets of candy and gifts for children. Hot cross buns are a traditional Easter food in many English-speaking countries.
