✝️ Easter Vigil
Köken: Europe
The Easter Vigil is the oldest and most elaborate liturgy in the Christian calendar, held after nightfall on Holy Saturday. It begins with the lighting of the Paschal candle from a new fire, proceeds through a series of Old Testament readings, and culminates in the celebration of the Resurrection and, traditionally, adult baptisms. The service can last two to three hours and is considered the highpoint of the liturgical year for Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, and many Protestant communities.
