Neujahrstag in Germany dawns with the lingering scent of gunpowder from the previous night's Silvester fireworks. A beloved New Year's Day tradition is watching Dinner for One (Der 90. Geburtstag), a 1963 British comedy sketch that German television has broadcast every New Year's Eve since the 1970s.
